About the Welland Recreational Canal Corporation

The Welland Recreational Canal Corporation (WRCC) is responsible for the stewardship of the Welland Recreational Waterway, a large park area which encompasses more than 1,000 acres of land, 24km of trail and 12km of waterway through the heart of Welland. This spectacular national asset is a place where residents and visitors can participate in a wide variety of recreation, leisure, sports, and cultural activities while having the unique experience of 'cottage country' surroundings in an urban area.

Welland`s proud history of bringing people together around the Waterway continues in modern times with fresh new opportunities, exciting new projects, and a slew of events taking place. Details on all of these initiatives and events can be found throughout this website and at wifc.ca.

The WRCC is looking forward to delivering value to the citizens of Welland and Niagara in 2017. We`re focused on partnering with local residents, businesses, the City of Welland, and wide variety of regional stakeholders to build the foundation of a bright, sustainable future for everyone connected to the Waterway; a future filled with opportunities to enjoy sport & recreation, and active living.
