Notre Dame Rowing Club (NDRC)
Founded in the fall of 2009, the Notre Dame Rowing Club enters its fifth year of operation providing community based programming for all. Located just north of where Thorold Road meets the Recreational Canal the Club is centrally located for easy access to 8 kilometers of flat water.
The Notre Dame Rowing club believes in Long Term Athlete Development and focus on sculling as a means to introduce the sport of rowing and to excel both recreationally and competitively.
Competitive, learn to row and recreational programs are available for youth and adults year round and membership is open to all residents of Welland/Pelham and Niagara.
The Notre Dame Rowing Club offers several innovative programs.
The Notre Dame Rowing Academy© is designed to introduce pre-high school and early high school you to the different forms of rowing, water safety and boat handling and develop the technical skill and fitness to become a great rower.
Our Adult Programming has three tiers providing a variety of choices for interested adults:
1. Adult recreational: For adults new to rowing or interested in a part time rowing experience
2. Masters Non-competitive: For adults who are transitioning to a competitive program or are interested in the training/social benefits of rowing but who do not want to race
3. Competitive Masters: For adults who are interested in the full competitive experience including more intensive coaching and racing in Ontario and the Northeast United States
Our Youth Competitive is for graduates of the Notre Dame Rowing Academy© and experienced youth rowers running year round and on the water from April to October; open to youth of all ability levels. The Youth Competitive program has a long and proud history of National and Provincial champions as well as rowing and coaching excellence.
